Select, Pan, Rectangle, Linear, Polyline, Area, Deduct, Count, and Annotate — and how continuous measuring works.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Select | Click a measurement to select it; drag a box to select several at once. Selected measurements can be assigned to an item, hidden, duplicated, or deleted together. |
| Pan | Drag to move around the sheet. This is the default tool when a project opens. |
| Rectangle | Drag a rectangle to measure an area in one motion. |
| Linear | Click point to point to measure lengths. Keep clicking to continue the run — see Continuous runs below. Double-click (or press Enter) to end the section. |
| Polyline | Multi-point lines that don't need to close, measured as total length. |
| Area (Polygon) | Click around a shape and close it to measure its area. |
| Deduct | Draw an area to carve out of other areas — windows and doors out of a wall, for example. See Deducts. |
| Count | Click each instance to drop a numbered marker; the item total counts the markers. |
| Annotate | Pin a note anywhere on the sheet. Notes are not measurements and never enter totals. |
Linear measuring is continuous: each click adds a segment, every segment is labeled with its own length, and the sections you draw for one item add up into that item's total. Sections can be drawn before you decide which item they belong to — draw first, then select the lines and use Assign to to attach them to an item.
Measurements belong to items (Flooring, Windows, Tile…). The panel groups quantities by item and then by type, so lengths, areas, and counts always total separately — linear feet never mix with square feet. See Items, categories & colors.
